We work with a global insurance underwriter, to offer what is called ‘Dommages Ouvrage’, an insurance policy that lasts for 10 years, and insures you and any future owner against damage resulting from the original construction of your home.
Without ‘Dommages Ouvrage’ you would not legally be allowed to sell your house within the first 10 years. The insurance covers all aspects of the construction, including;
- Groundwork - preparing the earth for foundations
- Masonry – the foundations and all stonework, walls, floors etc.
- Carpentry – the roof and other external woodwork
- External fittings – the doors and windows thathouse
- Plasterers – rendering of the internal walls
- Tiling & Plumbing – bathroom, kitchen
If an original contractor supplying any of the above work goes out of business within the 10 year period after your home is completed, ‘Dommages Ouvrage’ pays for a registered supplier to put right any damages.
