Reduce home energy costs and help the environment
ArtEcoLogis is now able to offer building solutions that respect the environment and enable house owners to save energy and money.
How do we do this? Essentially by reinforcing the insulation of the building frame to remove 'cold' areas near windows and doors and beneath the floors, using traditional hardcore construction methods and para-seismic concrete slabs.
The focus then shifts to introducing leading-edge renewable energy solutions, such as solar (sun), geothermic (land), aerothermic (air) heating and ventilation solutions. Capturing natural rainwater can also be used as the main water source for the house.
Heat pumps
These complementary solutions use a 'heat pump', which moves heat from one area of the house to another. A heat pump works in the same way as a refrigerator, but in reverse. Solar heat is stored in the ground, water and air and is available all year-round. Heat pumps transfer this heat from one medium to another.
As solar heat occurs naturally it has no cost or carbon impact. A heat pump transfers this free energy by mechanical means, using some electrical energy.
The design of your property will dictate the size and type of your heating system and therefore the size and type of heat pump to use - we can help you with this.
The Passive House
By maximizing and combining the different renewable energy solutions it is possible to establish what is referred to as a Passive House, in line with RT2005 compliance (A French standards guideline that enables constructers to build with the most energy-economical materials and solutions). These approaches not only save considerable money on heating a home, but also are in line with the Kyoto Protocol.
ArtEcoLogis can now provide all these solutions, to build a beautiful home that is as economical as it is aesthetic.
